Traveling Library

The Traveling Library, our bookmobile, is our main library with about 5000 of our newest books, audiobooks, and DVDs. The Traveling Library stops in the Benton, Millville, Mifflinville, and Catawissa areas and visits schools and pre-schools. Book donations are welcome on the bookmobile, with a limit of two boxes at a time. See the Schedule & Hours page for the quarterly bookmobile schedule and listing of community visits.

Central Branch Library

The Central Branch Library is the operational headquarters of the Columbia County Traveling Library and serves as a large branch library with about 18,000 books, audiobooks, and DVDs to browse and borrow. There is a children’s area for storytimes, family visits, and play dates. We accept donations of books for our book sales here all year-round. See the Schedule & Hours page for operating hours. Use the lower parking lot in the back of the building to get to the library entrance. Benton Area Branch Library

This northern branch library at the Northern Columbia County Community & Cultural Center (N4Cs) has about 2500 items which you can browse and check out anytime the center is open. The staff at the N4Cs front desk can help you. You can also return any Traveling Library or Orangeville Public Library books at the front desk. If you set this branch as your default pickup location, we can leave your items for pickup anytime the center is open. Any Traveling Library patron can use the library, regardless of whether or not you have a membership with N4Cs. See the Schedule & Hours page for operating hours. See map and get driving directions.

Catawissa Area Branch Library

The Catawissa Area Branch Library is a southern regional branch library with about 7500 books, audiobooks, and DVDs to browse and borrow. There is a children’s area for storytimes, family visits, and play dates. You can browse and check out books here and return any Traveling Library or Orangeville Public Library books here. If you set this branch as your default pickup location, we can leave your items for pickup anytime the library is open. Book donations are welcome here, with a limit of two boxes at a time. See the Schedule & Hours page for operating hours. See map and get driving directions.

Orangeville Public Library

The Orangeville Public Library is a partner library in the center of Columbia County with about 18,000 books, audiobooks, and DVDs to browse and borrow. This library is administratively separate from the Traveling Library, but shares the same catalog system. All Columbia County Traveling Library and Orangeville Public Library patrons have full privileges at both libraries. Greenwood Friends School Library

The Greenwood Friends School is a private Quaker school which partners with the Columbia County Traveling Library and shares the same catalog system. About 10,000 children’s books from this library are available for use by any Columbia County Traveling Library or Orangeville Public Library patrons. It is not possible to browse and borrow Greenwood Friends School books directly, but you can reserve these items in the online library catalog for pickup at any other location.
